"It is necessary to understand the structure of the human machine," Gurdjieff admonishes Ouspensky, from the beginning, to seemingly, the end of their days together (1). Brain Systems, on its surface, is a tool, or better put, a map of us at any given moment - in our walking through a door, ordering a cup of coffee, asking someone out, reading this, scheduling an appointment, planning a hostile take-over or, dreaming. Anything we are can be seen and modelled fully within the context of Brain Systems. Do maps in themselves make a difference? Well, it depends probably on both the map maker and the map reader, but most importantly, on the map reader. Did the earth by herself inspire awe striking consciousness regarding her processes and maintenance in all people? Did everyone who saw her satellite image accept the shock of entering the Piscean Age? What sensations and possibilities are evoked when you see yourself, as from a satellite, with identities once unconsidered? 1. In Search of the Miraculous, p. 19-20.
